Jennifer Hills, scrittrice con già un romanzo all'attivo, affitta una baita nel bosco per scrivere il suo nuovo libro. Dopo aver perso la strada, arriva presso una stazione di benzina dove

incontra un gruppo di ragazzi. Questi, con il pretesto di darle delle informazioni stradali tentano di sedurla, fino a che Jennifer accidentalmente preme il pulsante d'emergenza della sua

macchina, facendo spaventare Johnny, uno dei ragazzi, e facendolo inciampare dentro un secchio d'acqua. Cogliendo la palla al balzo, Jennifer scappa con la macchina e arriva alla villetta.

Intanto, i quattro ragazzi cominciano a spiarla e a riprenderla con la videocamera. Giorni dopo, Jennifer si accorge di avere un guasto in bagno, chiama l'idraulico, Matthew, nonché uno dei
