Later, Darren's startled to find James sat in his office chair but James has a plan… John Paul tries to avoid Mrs St Claire, thinking she has a crush on him. Louis believes it too when Mrs St Claire invites John Paul to go to a head teacher's conference on her behalf. John Paul confronts Mrs St Claire about the special treatment she’s giving him but he upsets her and she sends him home. Originally devised by Phil Redmond, who also devised shows such as Brookside and Grange Hill, the program is set in and around the fictional Chester suburb of Hollyoaks and is centered around a former 1950s technical college which is now a college of higher education called Hollyoaks Community College (often mistaken for the real-life University of Chester), with the characters and main target audience generally being in their late teens or early twenties.
