In this stunning documentary, director Don Sikorski uncovers a 500+ page dossier that he surprisingly received after several freedom of information requests were denied. This government compiled dossier is jam-packed with personal and sensitive information on the industry's artists and players including addresses, social security numbers, associates on everyone in the music game. Not only does Rap Sheet prove that the Hip-Hop Cops exist, but it also traces to Washington Heights, and its ties to the NYPD, FBI, DEA and IRS. Ben Chavis of the NAACP discusses his opinion on the surveillance activity of rappers, and law enforcement officials describes that certain rappers like 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes were followed because of threats against their lives, and although publicly rappers spoke against the surveillance, behind closed doors certain rappers appreciated the extra protection. Former NYPD officer and founder of the gang unit, Lou Savelli talks about the purpose for such a dossier and chronicles crimes that rappers have been involved with such as the the shooting of 50 cent, the shooting at 97Hot radio involving Lil Kim, and the shooting implicating Shine Barrow of Bad Boy.
