Las Vegas bouncer Mike Cormack, a onetime attorney whose career was ruined by alcoholism, is given a proposal by a mysterious man named Barzland. Mike is to visit the tropical island Santo Rosario and retrieve a stolen ruby. The incentive, money, sure, but also revenge. The woman who supposedly took the jewel is Janet, Mike's ex-fiancée who left him for a pilot. Mike agrees, but quickly finds himself surrounded by danger and deception.
