216 minute Criterion version, "director-approved". Pay attention to the MGM logo screen appearing after the Criterion logo at the film's beginning - you'll see the obvious cropping at the top and bottom of the screen. It's possible to watch this copy and be unaware of cropping, if one lacks prior knowledge. Too bad about the screw-up, but if it's too much for you to bear, buy the disk.

It is cropped. Pay attention during the MGM logo display. Rather obvious, and not trivial. I'm not complaining though.
