This is the one hour program from Hearts of Space Radio Show, which first aired on the weekend of January 20, 2006. This is a special program, a tribute to the Dead Can Dance Band. Music is split to MP3s at VBR, voiceover have been suppressed. Program Notes are included in the Tracklist.

Program Notes by Stephen Hill, Producer
The Anglo/Irish/Australian band DEAD CAN DANCE hit an uncommonly rich musical vein as they evolved. Starting as a gloomy "darkwave" rock band in Australia in 1981, they moved to London and soon embraced ancient, modal, medieval, and world music influences. Like all true artists, they transformed these into something much more than the sum of its parts. Fronted by LISA GERRARD's incomparable wordless vocals and BRENDAN PERRY's superb production, they created a deep and beautiful sound that's been tremendously influential for artists from Classical to Gothic, New Age to Dark Ambient.

In 2005, Projekt Records released a multi-artist tribute to DEAD CAN DANCE that's the inspiration for this edition of HEARTS of SPACE. We celebrate the legacy of DEAD CAN DANCE on a program called SUMMONING THE MUSE.
