But when it comes to introspective instrumental music, it's often better to think small, and extend the centuries-long tradition of chamber music. Small doesn't mean weak or shallow: some of the deepest and most psychologically potent music ever made is for small ensembles. Today almost anything you can imagine is possible, and categorical distinctions like acoustic, electric or electronic are less important than overall sound, character, emotion and depth.
