Quatermass and the Pit (US title: Five Million
Years to Earth) is a 1967 British science fiction
horror film directed by Roy Ward Baker. Made by
Hammer Film Productions it is a sequel to the
earlier Hammer films The Quatermass Xperiment and
Quatermass 2. Like its predecessors it is based
on a BBC Television serial – Quatermass and the
Pit – written by Nigel Kneale.

STORY:

Whilst working on a new subway tunnel for the
London Underground, a group of construction
workers uncover a strangely shaped skull amongst
the rubble. Nearby is another discovery; a large,
mysterious and impenetrable metal object. The
origins of the objects and their strange powers
are far more horrific and terrifying than anybody
could've possibly imagined. Could it be an
ancient link to unleashing ultumate evil? There's
only man capable of unravelling the clues:
Professor Bernard Quatermass.
