IT IS PIECE OF SHIT! There are broken file while extract and there are no such idea to how to open it. EVEN i use the latest winrar/7=zip/free arc/knife/ bla bla bla...

to fix the textures : copy and past the half life 2 folder in episode one folder then click merge

for those who having problem with the extrct files be sure you have the last version of winrar or use free arc it is the best extractor ever .

i only got the textures to fix

even if you set on windows 7 or whatever service pack ...

works if you run the start(bat) icon ( or whatever mammals birds ) above the hlf2.exe but textures are all missing ,so i'm waiting for the complet download of half life 2 for copying its files and paste them to episode one folder for having the real "complet experience" of " half life " .

also i think that we are all crazy here don't you ?
