Good Charlotte is a Pop Punk band from Waldorf, Maryland that formed in 1996. They took their name from a children's book called Good Charlotte: The Girls of Good Day Orphanage by Carol Beach York. They have released 4 albums in total, most notably 2002's multi-platinum seller 'The Young And The Hopeless', which spawned the chart topping singles, 'Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous', 'The Anthem', and 'Girls and Boys'. Their new album, Good Morning Revival, will be released on March 27th 2007 in the United States and was released March 19th 2007 in Europe. The band is fronted by identical twin brothers Benji and Joel Madden. Other members of the band include their friends Billy Martin, Paul Thomas and Dean Butterworth on the drums.
Fourth album from the brothers Madden sees them continuing to head in the 80's synthpop-inspired direction they explored on 2004's 'The Chronicles Of Life And Death'. This time, however, there is some more mature songwriting and a darker tone to the lyrics, suggesting the boys have grown up somewhat. Includes the single 'Keep Your Hands Off My Girl' and an attempt to connect with the metal crowd with rawer, chunkier guitars and a guest appearance from members of Avenged Sevenfold on 'The River'.
