Former members of the "Church" of Scientology reveal the shockingly exploitative practices and control it welds over it's members. It is a serious and unsettling depiction of brainwashing, greed and gross misuse of power. Is it a profit-driven organized syndicate or a benevolent, charitable organization? You decide.

The film has received widespread praise from critics for its methodical deconstruction of the church's claims with a thorough presentation of it's history, founder, L. Ron Hubbard and high ranking ex-member testimonies.

It has sparked a public awareness campaign in the alleged abuses committed by the Church of Scientology advocating that the media and law enforcement agencies should further investigate. Another issues is to whether Scientology's tax exemption should be revoked in light of the allegations documented in the film.

The film is based on Lawrence Wright's 2013 book, Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood and the Prison of Belief.
