Gogol Bordello - Gypsy Punks (...FUN STUFF HERE!..)

Here is a NYC eight-piece whose lead singer is from Ukrainian and four other members are immigrants (two Russian, two Israeli).

With Eastern European sounds that pour out of their saxes, accordions, violins, guitars, and drums they have forged a sound that is all their own and definitely worth checking out.

It's a hard sound to describe. I first thought of Russian men around a fire, arms crossed, squatting down, doing some crazy kick dance. Then I thought, nope, they would be punk rockers doing a slam dance.....Then I thought....Vampire punk rockers from Transylvania! .........Ya! That's it!

The band self-described themselves as "Gypsy punk cabaret".
