Gizmo! (1977) - Complete & uncut, with color sequences

‘Gizmo!’ (1977) is the highly beloved, but ULTRA-RARE, documentary film produced and directed by Howard Smith, about improbable inventions, ambitious and often death-defying stunts, and their even more eccentric inventors and performers.

Totally spell-bounding from beginning to end, and just as sweet-hearted, ‘Gizmo’ contains some of the most incredible, jaw-dropping, footage you’ve ever seen, and if nothing else, it’s a testament to man-kinds ability to DREAM BIG.

Among some of the lunatic inventions shown here are talking grandfather clocks, a bicycle that can scale houses, protective caps to keep swimmers' beards dry, cars that drive backwards, and much, much more you’ve just got to see to believe.

A phenomenal musical sound track (including an hysterical opening voice-over) also maintains a great sense of humor while never disrespecting the men and women who have made ‘Gizmo!’ such a wide-eyed and enjoyable ride.

Never officially released on DVD, and for the most part nowadays seen only in distorted, fuzzy, and often truncated, versions with terrible sound, I’m pleased to share ‘Gizmo!’ in it’s wondrous entirety, complete with original COLOR opening and closing credits, and excellent sound.

PLEASE NOTE - that while the original newsreel footage and sound for this documentary is wildly variable in quality, this is absolutely the best copy of ‘GIZMO’ I have seen, and was lovingly struck from a 35 year old, previously sealed, MINT VHS tape. If I ever find a better copy, I'll upload it.
