Description
Wikipedia says:
De la ConquĂȘte de Constantinople (On the Conquest of Constantinople), is the oldest surviving example of historical French prose, and considered to be one of the most important historical works of the Fourth Crusade. It was written by Geoffrey of Villehardouin, a knight and crusader, who gave his eyewitness account of the successful conquest of the exotic city of Constantinople on April 13, 1204. Audiobook - History MP3's encoded at 128 kbps CBR Duration 4.2 hours Embedded front cover Something of a favourite of mine, and definitely for the history geek. This isn't a modern history book, but a contemporary eyewitness account of the 4th crusade and the sacking of Constantinople. As such it is obviously biased and sometimes erroneous or inaccurate, but unlike a normal history book it shows you exactly what this participant in the crusades thought about the whole thing. Not the easiest book, some understanding of the history of the crusades and/or Byzantium/Constantinople will certainly help in appreciating it, but one which i took a fancy to. P.s. still only my second .torrent, files originally downloaded from Demonoid and making them available here now. Criticism and/or advice for making better torrents is appreciated. Sharing Widget |
