This torrent contains every officially released Sega CD USA game plus a wide assortment of extras. (Manual and box art scans, game snapshots/titles plus Prototype and Demo images) I would like to give special thanks to Devilman who contributed over $500 to the project. This set was made possible thanks to his dedication and generosity.

The Official Sega CD USA games are in the bin+cue format and each image was ripped according to the Darkwater rip/burn guide. The images are TorrentZipped and this set comes with a CLRMAME Pro dat file. You can get the CLRMAME Pro dats for this set here or in this torrent. Please use the Genuine and tested Sega CD USA images (2007-11-14) [Quickplay Compatible Version] dat as this torrent has been named according to it. The Darkwater dat is just to let you know which images in this set are Darkwater releases.

Each image was thoroughly tested and is guaranteed to be a working genuine rip. The image creation and testing procedure was as follows…

1 – The project used the Darkwater rip/burn guide. This means images were ripped from the actual disc consecutively and CRC compared to verify that an error free image extraction took place. Also 60 of the images in this set are actually Darkwater releases. I had to remove the Darkwater release numbers from the archives though to make the set fully compatible with the front-end Quickplay. Darkwater also CRC compares their images and are dedicated to quality just like this project is. Perhaps more so...

2 – After image extraction, the image was scanned with CDmage to check for sector errors. This is an important step because CD discs that have no copyright protection should have none. Finding sector errors usually indicates a bad rip and the game has a high likelihood of crashing at some point. The main reason I don’t collect Sega CD USA TOSEC rips is because they do not contain the Error Detection and Error Correction Codes (EDC & ECC respectfully) that enable you to confirm an error free image extraction took place.

3 – The project team members then tested the image via the emulators Kega Fusion and Gens+. Both emulators were used because some games will not work on Kega. (Very few though. I believe Animals!, The (U) is one of them)

4 – Finally the image was burn tested on the actual Sega CD USA console to make sure that the image was fully working.

As you can see, the project went through extraordinary lengths to make sure that this set was quality.
