Genesis - ABACAB Expanded (Size: 503.03 MB)
DescriptionI had always been a big fan of ABACAB, as far as Collins-era Genesis went. They were really starting to hit their stride as a pop band while retaining a lot of what made them THE prog-rock masters of the universe during the Gabriel era. When I revisted it recently I started reading some of the background, and quickly learned this is a double album that never was. I set about re-creating the double album that could/would/should have been. I have assembled all of the tracks from the ABACAB sessions here, and placed them in the running order the band was working with until they abandoned the idea of a double album. These would include the original album tracks, A-sides and B-sides of singles, and tracks that wound up on the American release of "Three Sides Live". I put extra effort into reassembling the suite of Naminanu/Dodo/Lurker/Submarine as I'm guessing it would have sounded if they had continued working with them as a full concept, and actually went into Sony Sound Forge to seamlessly attach Submarine to the end of Dodo/Lurker. I worked exclusively with FLAC files, and the end result remains that way. In addition, I let my inner graphic designer out and put together some "new" cover artwork, so if you're old school enough to still put CDs on your shelf, this one will fit right in with a front sleeve and U-card. The track listing is as follows: 1. Abacab (6:58) 2. You Might Recall (5:36) 3. No Reply at All (4:34) 4. Naminanu (3:51) 5. Dodo/Lurker/Submarine (11:59) 6. Me and Virgil (6:19) 7. Keep It Dark (4:32) 8. Me and Sarah Jane (6:02) 9. Another Record (4:38) 10. Who Dunnit? (3:25) 11. Man On the Corner (4:27) 12. Like It or Not (4:59) 13. Paperlate (3:26) Total Running Time: 70:46 Enjoy. Sharing Widget |
