Description

A collection from the Mercury funk lineup that covers the hits from the first five Gap Band albums. Every major hit that they had is included here.

What one might notice is that all of the major hits ("You Dropped a Bomb on Me," "Burn Rubber on Me," "Early in the Morning," and "I Don't Believe You Want to Get up and Dance") all sound surprisingly similar.

This may or may not be a large surprise to everyone, but the bright note about their similarity is that the basic riffs and rhythms that they all use are extremely catchy. The energy that the Gap Band exudes in the midst of producing a song is stunning, and this compilation displays that to the fullest extent.

For a basic introduction to the forms of funk that the Gap Band followed, this album would certainly suit any given listener.

For those who only need one Gap Band album in their collection, this one also fits the bill perfectly. For die-hard fans who already have all of the band's albums, this one would probably only really serve as a summary. (AMG)

Thank you, YES! I am so fond of the Gap Band and would have downloaded this a long time ago if I knew this was available on Torrent. I am confused about the Main page, where it says "Format: flac - lossy ." That format and it's description would be a contradiction, unless someone has knowledge that this flac recording did not come from a true WAV rip from a CD. In order for a flac file to be lossy it would have to be verified to come from a lossy source like MP3 or Ogg, and then transcoded to flac afterward. I see no evidence of this yet, but I feel more motivated than usual to run these through Audiochecker or AuCDtect just to figure it out.

Could this be a typo maybe? I don't want to do anything to the files that will keep me from seeding them for awhwile, I don't think those tests alter them, but I'm not 100% sure, just a minor change and Vuze won't reseed them. Someone should check if that is an accurate format description for this torrent.
