Description -

Freelancer is a free space simulation game with a story line (the closest game - Privateer). The player is in the role of the free pilot, living on borrowed time looming threat over the world. The action takes place in the sector of Sirius, eight centuries after humans first landed on one of the local planets. Earth no longer exists: it was destroyed by a mysterious race of aliens as soon as the ships of colonists left the Solar System.

Investigated space is divided between the four "houses" - the descendants of the ancient states of the Earth. It also act and the various "independent" group of pirates, the fanatics and interstellar corporations. The game opens an amazing, vast and really researched the gaming world, who live their lives. Each time, flying into space, you feel that life: radio communications strangers flying on business vehicles and hundreds of unique locations to create a unique atmosphere of life free pilot. A story missions that you can do during the game, open up new dimensions of this world and once again will feel the craftsmanship in the creation of Chris Roberts' game universe.

As for the execution of the game, it's a worthy trade-off between quality and speed. The protracted development of the game led to that schedule does not look so stunning imagination, like two years ago. But the game is not so demanding on resources and works fine even on average (by today's standards) computer at all maximum settings. It is also used in Freelancer unique control using the mouse, different from what it was in space simulators before. Perhaps some at first it may not seem too familiar, but eventually you realize that it is - a very good and correct approach to the control of the spacecraft, in which guns are not "nailed down" tightly to the body, and rotating turret.
