Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett (January 6, 1946 â July 7, 2006) was an English singer, songwriter, guitarist and artist. Best remembered as one of the founding members of the group Pink Floyd, Barrett was active as a rock musician for only about seven years before he went into seclusion. His creative legacy and quintessentially English vocal delivery have since proven remarkably influential. Wouldnt You Miss Me? The Best of Syd Barrett: Wouldn't You Miss Me? is a single disc compilation album, released in 2001. Comprising highlights from Syd Barrett's two 1970 albums The Madcap Laughs and Barrett, and the 1988 out-takes collection Opel, the album was issued to service casual Barrett fans who presumably would only require one disc of his music. As a bonus to dedicated Barrett followers, The Best of Syd Barrett: Wouldn't You Miss Me? includes "Two Of A Kind", from Barrett's John Peel radio show performance in February 1970, and, courtesy of David Gilmour's personal collection, Barrett's previously-unreleased "Bob Dylan Blues", an original recorded a few days after "Two of a Kind", that before this release was a very rare and sought-after song. Because of its convenient nature, The Best of Syd Barrett: Wouldn't You Miss Me? makes a useful entry point for Barrett newcomers. :::->Tracklist Related Torrents
