Guide to connecting to the server:

Step 1. Download torrent

Step 2. 32-bit users launch FFXISETUP.exe and install everything.
**64-bit Windows users launch 64bit POL, then launch FFXISETUP.exe and install everything EXCEPT Playonline**

Step 3: Open the "update files" folder, and select all the files and copy them

Step 4: Open the directory you installed into, for example:
C:Program FilesPlayOnlineSquareEnixFinal Fantasy XI

Step 5: Paste the update files you just copied into this folder. Click overwrite on any duplicates.

Step 6: Launch PlayOnline, it will briefly update, and then restart.

Step 7: Click "Existing Members" and enter POL ID ABCD1234 and click register, then click login

Step 7: On the left side click "Check Files" and CHANGE THE DROPDOWN to read FINAL FANTASY XI.

Step 8: Click "Check Now", this process will take some time. Eventually it will come up with "Repair". Select that. This can take a few hours.

Step 9: Open your install directory and find PlayonlineSquareEnixPlayonlineViewer to find and copy the 'data' folder.

Step 10: Back out and open PlayonlineSquareEnixFINAL FANTASY XI and paste the data folder into this directory.

Step 11: Open the "Visual C++ Runtimes" folder and install ALL 3 files in the folder.
You will now ALSO need to CLICK HERE AND DOWNLOAD an additional runtime, and install it as well.

Step 12: Open the "Ashita" folder and right click Ashita and run as administrator.

Step 13: Click on one of the server profiles and edit to suit your preferences, or double click to launch.

Step 14: Follow the instructions on the black screen.

Step 15: See you in game!

Server Rules:

Harassment and disruptive behavior are not allowed in FINAL FANTASY XI. These actions break the way the game is designed to be played and can result in disciplinary action. The following are examples of inappropriate behavior in FINAL FANTASY XI.

Harassment
• Using language not acceptable in a public venue.
• Any language that condemns any race, nationality, religion, sexual orientation or gender.
• Any language that is purposely meant to harm or harass a third party.
• Any group formed for the purpose of harassing a player or players.

Disruptive Behavior
• Any action that deliberately causes a monster to attack another player character, or MPK-related action.
• Holding a Notorious Monster without attacking it while other players are waiting.
• Deliberately interrupting a conversation or chat session by spamming the log window or other such actions.
• Sending unwanted items to another player through the delivery box.
• Group actions that block access and impede other players' movements within the game.
• Any action that keeps another player from completing a quest or mission.
• Examining other players continuously to disrupt their gameplay.
• Actions that excessively deprive others of the ability to experience various gameplay features.
• Any other action that is determined by a GM to cause a disruption in gameplay.

In-Game Fraud
• Defined as any action to defraud another player with the intent to gain items or gil for personal profit.

Game Balance Issues
• Any use of a program that is not provided here.
• Controlling a player character through use of a program or machine that is not yourself.
• Any use of third-party programs, regardless of benefit, that is not expressly supplied here.
• Selling items or accounts to gain money in the real world, or other RMT-related actions.

Other Improper Actions
• Trying to impersonate other players by using their handle names or other means of communication.
• Ignoring instructions from Game Masters.
• Impersonating a Game Master or an official representative of Square Enix.
• Any act that compromises the FINAL FANTASY XI service, or attempts to affect said service.

Naming Restrictions
• You may not name your character anything in the auto-translate dictionary.
• You may not immitate other NPC's, players, gm's, or staff.
• Names found to be in poor taste at a GM's descression may be required to be changed.

Additionally, GMs may give directives to players during periods of technical difficulties with the game. This is to prevent any harmful side effects to players and should be followed immediately. I am not responsible for any negative effects on account of players who ignore such directives. This includes any directives given during normal maintenance service.
