Wild: The only thing that frightens shapeshifter Selene Rhodes more than the full moon is the idea of falling in love. Selene Rhodes has lived her whole life with a terrible secret: not only can she take the form of any animal at will, but once a month the full moon transforms her into a fierce wolf-creature without a human conscience. Managing her condition means living by a strict routine, and more importantly, abstaining from intimate relationships with human beings. Selene is convinced that love and friendship can only bring her pain. Forensic pathologist Eve Thomas is well-acquainted with the pain of romantic love. Swearing off relationships after having her heart broken by a cheating ex, Eve throws herself into her work: catching murderers. When Selene comes to her aid after an attack by a masked man in Golden Gate Park, Eve is shocked by how powerfully she is drawn to her mysterious savior. Shaken by her own feelings for Eve, Selene is even more terrified to realize she isn’t even close to being the scariest monster stalking San Francisco. There is someone out in the city who is killing for pleasure, and his next target is the one woman he thinks might be able to stop him: Eve Battle Scars: Returning Iraq war veteran Ray McKenna struggles with battle scars that can only be healed by love. Ray McKenna returns from the war in Iraq to find that she had attained unwanted celebrity status back home. As the only surviving American soldier of a well-publicized hostage crisis, she is the center of attention at a time when all she wants is solitude. Struggling to overcome the fear and anxiety that plague her, she relies on her psychiatric therapy dog Jagger to help her through the vicious symptoms of PTSD. Veterinarian Dr. Carly Warner hasn't yet figured out how to open her heart to the possibility of falling in love again after the death of her longtime partner. When Ray McKenna walks into the North Coast Veterinary Clinic with Jagger, she and Carly begin a friendship that takes them both by surprise. Brought together by their shared love of dogs, Ray and Carly discover that they are both capable of moving forward, if only they are brave enough to try Thirteen Hours: Can you fall in love in thirteen hours? It's her birthday but lonely workaholic Dana Watts is at the office late, drafting a proposal. The very last interruption she expects comes in the form of the most beautiful breasts she has ever seen. These belong to an incredibly hot woman, who is standing in front of her, stripping to music. Laurel Stanley performs strip-o-grams to pay her way through school. She has never encountered a more ungrateful recipient than Dana. The uptight project manager makes it clear that she is furious to be distracted from her work by the "gift" a colleague sent and equally appalled by Laurel's occupation. After Dana is rude and insulting, and insists on escorting Laurel from the building, the two women take an elevator ride that changes everything. Stuck with each other for thirteen long hours after the elevator breaks down, they discover how wrong first impressions can be and how right two strangers can feel together. Can everything change in less than a day? Dana and Laurel set out to discover if their passionate elevator encounter can mean more in this fast-paced, erotic story of lust, loneliness, fantasy, and desire. The Three: In the The Three by Meghan O'Brien we are treated to first-rate storytelling that features scorching love scenes with three main characters. While the publisher lists this book as an adventure, it is the mix with eroticism that completes this remarkable story. Anna first meets Elin and Kael as they are traveling south on foot for the winter. There are few people along the way after biological war and sickness wipes out most of the United States' population twenty years before. As the three join together to protect themselves against unfriendly strangers, they find themselves forming a bond of need and love, but the three are no match for a group of pro-creationists who kidnap Elin. O' Brien convinces and enlightens us with each word as she widens our definition of what it takes to make a family, and this is the power of The Three. She constructs unusual dynamics when Anna unites with the two lovers, Elin and Kael. Rather than being a third wheel, Anna becomes both Kael's and Elin's lover, and we benefit from some awesome love scenes. As the three work through their new relationships, they encounter many difficulties on the road, but they tackle all adversaries as one. Infinite Loop: Regan O'Riley is a shy software developer who believes she'll never find a woman who can appreciate her self-admitted geekiness. Mel Raines is a lonely cop haunted by a painful past. She has spent years avoiding intimacy with anyone in her life, and she has no intention of changing. Mel and Regan have a chance meeting in, of all places, a straight bar, and both are surprised at the instant chemistry that springs up between them. But their new connection is put to the test when tragedy strikes Mel's life, forcing her to reconsider her career and her path for the future. When Regan suggests an impromptu road trip to the American Southwest, Mel is eager to grab hold of a temporary escape from reality. But in close company, these two will be tested in ways they never expected. What will happen as they re-examine their choices and their definitions of family? Can Regan and Mel manage to get past obstacles that seem insurmountable? Endgame: To Delaney, women have always been a game. But when she meets Heather and learns of the horrific attack she suffered, even Delaney knows that this is one woman that shouldn't be hurt again. To Heather, it feels like a part of her is finally coming alive again, and the woman she wants to share it with is Delaney. A difficult but sensitively written story. The Gift: In an alternate world, Commander Janna Arwyn is summoned to the King's palace for her efforts in winning the war. As part of a reward which she can't refuse, the King offers her the services of a body slave, Moira. When Janna and Moira end up sharing a night that is more for lovers than between a warrior and a slave, Janna knows she must find a way to save Moira. Dark Springs: Cate never thought she would meet the women of her dreams while driving home after graduating from college. The two women thought they were going to have an exciting night together, but little did they know what awaits them in the little town of Dark Springs, Utah. Bella Luna: After a difficult visit to Clare's parents in Maine, all Andi and Clare want to do is to take their son safely home. But when a snowstorm hits they're forced to stop at the Bella Luna, a creepy bed and breakfast inn. A scary tale with spooks and chills. Who We Are Not: Seven years, two months and eleven days that's how long Kendra and Jess has been together, but maybe this one slip on Jess's part is the one that will end the relationship. Peter's Choice: A woman spends the weekend at the beach house of her brother's best friend. Lying in bed one evening, she ponders some interesting goodnight words. Truth or Dare: Jena is reunited with her college friend and long-term object of devotion, Ryan, at a weekend reunion hosted by mutual friends. She finds it more difficult than she imagined to remain platonic, especially in light of a revealing game of Truth or Dare. Near Miss: Two strangers meet and connect when they both narrowly avoid injury during a traffic accident. Ritual: Just a short story about a little family discord, inspired by those people in our lives who seem to have us playing out the same scenes over and over again. Sharing Widget |
