FF - Kate Sweeney Collection

Contains:

Paradise:
Genevieve Gastineau is a reporter for a newspaper in a small town in Wyoming. With its circulation dwindling, Genevieve is desperate for a good story. When she hears about a reclusive mountain woman, she realizes her chance.

Graham Sheridan needs her seclusion for a multitude of reasons, none of which she wants to impart on the intrusive, tenacious reporter.

Was it fate that bought them together or something otherworldly?

Kate Ryan Mysteries - [1-5]:
Kate Ryan Mysteries 1 - She Waits:
Kate Ryan is a middle-aged, accident prone, ex-private investigator. Emphasis on 'ex' as she and her partner gave up their profession after their last case nearly cost both of them, their lives. They wisely decided to limp away with whatever dignity and body parts they had left. Unfortunately, Kate will forever carry the scar to remind her of her folly that nearly took her life and plagues her heart and soul. Vowing never again to let her emotions rule her reason, Kate decides to go back to her first love, free-lance photography. For the next few years, she exists alone in - "My emotionally detached loop," as Kate proudly calls it. Then all hell breaks loose and Kate drops a loop.

Enter young Dr. Maggie Winfield and her adorable Aunt Martha. Kate literally stumbles into their lives one autumn morning and becomes an unwitting participant in their tangled web. Clues unravel in their small little hamlet and old secrets are sadly revealed. Kate's long forgotten instincts now compel her to untangle this web of deceit. In the midst of all this murder and mayhem, the detached photographer finds herself in a position she never thought she would be in again. It seems the feisty Dr. Winfield is having an unexpected, yet pleasant effect on her. The elusive Kate combines forces with the sarcastic Maggie, as they become the nucleus for this ongoing series.

Kate Ryan Mysteries 2 - A nice clean Murder:
A Nice Clean Murder, the second in the Kate Ryan Mysteries series, finds Kate’s brother-in-law, Mac, heir to a small family estate in the wild west of Ireland; bequeathed to him by an uncle he barely knew. Kate finds this a little suspicious, but as her family, she too is excited about Mac’s inheritance.

When a young Irishman collapses on Kate’s doorstep, her suspicions are justified. She is now sure that Mac’s Uncle Brian did not ‘accidentally fall off the cliff’ as reported. So, she agrees to accompany Mac and Teri on their trip across the Atlantic.

It’s good timing too, since things between Kate and Dr. Maggie Winfield are a little tense—it seems the elusive Kate is still chasing her demons.

Join Kate Ryan and her family on a historic, merry romp of murder and betrayal along the romantic, rugged coast of the Emerald Isle.

Kate Ryan Mysteries 3 - The Troble with Murder:
After a three-week photo assignment chasing wild mustangs in the heat of South Dakota, Kate Ryan wants nothing more than a quiet week at her log cabin in the woods. She decides it should be "girls only" and invites her sister Teri, Aunt Hannah, and Maggie.

Her nice quiet week turns out to be anything but. The trouble is, Maggie brings a friend along, and Kate is more reluctant to acknowledge any feelings she might have for Maggie. However, Kate finds a champion in Aunt Hannah, who is determined to see her sarcastic niece and the elusive Kate together at last.

Yet, something more troublesome is happening on the lake: a violent storm that leaves them isolated; a body washes up on the beach; too many suspects and no way out - that's the trouble with murder.

Kate Ryan Mysteries 4 - Who'll be dead for Christmas?:
After a three-week photo assignment chasing wild mustangs in the heat of South Dakota, Kate Ryan wants nothing more than a quiet week at her log cabin in the woods. She decides it should be "girls only" and invites her sister Teri, Aunt Hannah, and Maggie.

Her nice quiet week turns out to be anything but. The trouble is, Maggie brings a friend along, and Kate is more reluctant to acknowledge any feelings she might have for Maggie. Yet, something more troublesome is happening on the lake: a violent storm that leaves them isolated; a body washes up on the beach; too many suspects and no way out - that's the trouble with murder.

Kate Ryan Mysteries 5 - Of course it's Murder:
Kate Ryan is sent to New England on a photo assignment. Seems her editor’s ex-cousin, the hapless flamboyant Simon Merriweather needs photos of his new inn for the local travel guide. It was to be a nice quiet week of reflection for Kate. What could go wrong?

Enter Kit Parker, Emily Masterson, and Rebecca Townsend. Newport, Rhode Island’s old, very old money... The irresistibly delightful elderly friends of Simon arrive for the grand opening. All hell breaks loose one stormy night and what happens?

Of course... It's murder!

The O'Malley Legacy:
Travel through history with the O’Malley women—from the 14th century and Brigid O’Malley, the Irish Barbarian, to the 1820s and sail the Jamaica Winds with Quinlan Stoddard, and finally to Shawn Riordan, fighting for her love and country during the weeks before the invasion of Normandy in Twilight’s Own.

Though vastly different in time and generations, the fiercely loyal, independent blood that courses through their veins connects these women. Each a warrior in her own right, three women struggle to find their rightful place in the world in which they live.

Strengthened by the spirit of all the O’Malley women who walked the earth before them, they battle tenaciously for family; they fight passionately for love—they are the O’Malley.

Moon 1 - Residual Moon:
Two young women are found dead on the Chicago lakefront in as many weeks, each murdered in the same fashion. Detective Sergeant Grayson MacCarthaigh is at her wit’s end trying to solve the grisly mess before the murderer claims another victim.

Her only common thread is Dr. Neala Rourke, the curator of the famous National Museum in Dublin, Ireland. She is in Chicago with her archaeological exhibit at the Field Museum, which suspiciously coincides with the two murders.
With a strange and eerie turn of events, things start unraveling. Grayson now is compelled to return to her birthplace and follows Dr. Rourke back to Ireland where ancient Celtic beliefs and mythology are thrown into the mix, turning the detective’s logical world upside-down.

However, one fact remains for the determined Detective MacCarthaigh: Someone killed those two women and whether real or mythological—he or she will kill again.

Moon 2 - Liar's Moon:
In the sequel to Residual Moon, Grayson MacCarthaigh stays in Ireland, struggling with her destiny as the true descendant chosen to protect the ancient power of the fabled Tuatha De Danann. Her logical world is now replaced with Celtic legends and myths, goddesses, and immortals.

As Grayson comes to grips with all this, someone or something is doing his or her best to see that she fails in her role of protector of the ancients. Is it her new archenemy, Phelan Tynan the ancient wizard, or Elinora, the beautiful but enigmatic immortal sent to help Grayson? And what of Sister Gabriel, the cloistered nun who suddenly appears at the abbey?

Grayson soon realizes everyone has something to hide. Mendacity runs amok at St. Brigid’s Monastery, but all will be revealed under the Liar’s Moon.

Winds of Heaven:
After the untimely death of a former lover, Casey Bennet receives a letter from Julie’s lawyer, begging Casey to help Julie’s partner, Liz Kennedy, and their adorable, yet precocious three-year old, Skye, who are now alone.

An avowed bachelorette, Casey has no idea what’s in store when she grudgingly agrees to help Liz, who, by the way, is also pregnant and due in four months.

Casey, Liz, and little Skye find themselves in for a hilarious, tender ride that will change their lives forever.

Sea of Grass:
Professor Tess Rawlins spent the last twelve years teaching agriculture in California, away from Montana and her heart. When she’s called back to the sprawling Double R cattle ranch and her ailing father, Tess is thrown back into the world she had nearly forgotten since the death of her brother two years earlier.

Unsettling memories boil to the surface for Tess, and her only pleasant distraction is the new cook Claire Redman and her son Jack. However, there is more facing Professor Rawlins than dealing with the memory of her brother or her attraction to Claire. Tess must figure a way to save the Rawlins’s five thousand acres of rich grassland. It has thrived for five generations, when her great-grandfather started the dynasty in the 1880s; now she may lose it all to an unscrupulous land developer.

Set in the foothills of the Bitterroots, Tess and Claire find themselves in the fight of their lives—for love and the sea of grass.
