Plot: Alicia discovers and aids a seriously ill Matt at his in-shambles house. Nick, Madison and Travis are alarmed by their encounter with the zombified Calvin, so they opt to flee to the desert. They decide to try to get Alicia, Liza and Chris to go with them. Matt convinces Alicia to leave with her family, as he has been bitten and infected. The group returns home to gather food and supplies. Nick suffers withdrawal symptoms, so Madison travels to her school to get him OxyContin. She encounters Tobias, a student whom she counsels, who is at the school to collect food. Artie tries to bite Tobias, so Madison is forced to kill him. She drives Tobias home. As Liz and Chris ignore Travis's calls, he drives to their house to get Chris, where he warns Liz about the outbreak. They leave together to find Chris, who is on a bus trapped in a zombie shooting-caused traffic jam. Chris films the event, and joins in a large protest against that and other recent fatal police shootings. Travis and Liza meet up with Chris after tracking him through his phone, when another zombified person is fatally shot by police, triggering mass riots. The three find refuge thanks to the Salazar family allowing them to stay in their gated barbershop-apartment. Travis manages to contact Madison at home, telling her to take the kids to the desert without him and he will catch up. Alicia witnesses the zombified Mr. Dawson attacking Mrs. Cruz across the street, but is prevented from intervening by Madison. Travis, Liza, Chris, and the Salazar family remain trapped inside the barbershop while the riots outside intensify.
