There's more than one guide on the internet.
This one matches the release group.
http://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/fast-n-loud/episodes/376152/
If you follow a lot of Discovery shows you will eventually learn some of them air seasons in parts and we'll see "Season Premiere" but it's not the next number, it's the next part. However, Discovery does not do this for all shows. Gold Rush is obviously a full length 20+ episode season aired rather consecutively. It's the reality series which air 6-8 eps, then go on break for a couple months and come back with "season premiere" to run another 6-8 eps. It seems the internet hasn't figured that out. Even TV Guide is off. But your numbering will make others think new episodes tagged as S06 are not new.
I won't change my numbering if people get confused thats their problem.
If it were a post by Richard Rawlings or Aaron Kaufman himself saying a specific number then there'd be more validity to the claim. But usually if a member of a show tweets or posts something about it they just write "New Season" without a number unless it is definitive like scripted shows are.
Bottom line is you can't really say the group is wrong with the S06 tag when TVGuide says S06 and that source, though not official, is just as valid as yours.
I read something about the Season Finale/Premiere overlay at least once or twice. If going by those overlays in the hdtv releases, that would make for some very fluctuating ep numbers per season: 14, 7, 21, 7, 14, 6, 6... It just doesn't seem right and Discovery networks have posted some of their series airing seasons as something like 2A, 2B, 2C, etc.; not as 2 then 3 and 4 like the plethora of guessing ep guides will list.
Frankly, I wouldn't be shocked if the EP Craig Piligian is laughing at all the confusion and thinking hey guys it's actually on the last leg of Season 3 with 28 eps per COMPLETE season after the first which was only 14.
In fact, if you go to discovery.com/schedule and look for a time which the newest episode of Fast N Loud airs by itself (likely the upcoming Monday night rerun between the two Diesel Bros eps), click on it to expand the episode info - doesn't really tell much, does it? Zoom out. Keep zooming out until you see what I see. lol Discovery.com/Schedule for Monday evening at 11PM says the Part 2 ep is season 3. lmao! That is from DISCOVERY.
