the map issue can be fixed Delete patch.dat and patch.fat from the data/win32 folder. Map now works in game.Enjoy

Surprised this worked, instructions on main says it all and crashes magically stop

Dll is not signed so it will not run on 8.1 and unfortunately the uplay_r1_loader64.dll is what you need to get past the first door crash.

EDIT: MAXAGENT's other upload seems to be signed and working for windows 8.1.
