What is FaceRig?


FaceRig is a program enabling anyone with a webcam to digitally embody any character they want. It uses your webcam to map your facial movements and speech in order to animate a 3D avatar.

Is FaceRig a game?


Not primarily. It is a Digital Alter-Ego Framework, built for communication and entertainment. Within that framework we can certainly build some very creative games, if there's a demand for it.

How many flavours of FaceRig will there be?


Right now we envision five:

FaceRig (or FaceRig Classic if you prefer), with webcam based tracking, fully featured for home non-commercial use. This is our main development focus.

FaceRig Pro, which is just like Home feature wise but can be used by people who make significant ad-based revenue off the place where they showcase their creations.

FaceRig Studio, targeted at businesses, which will also enable numeric mo-cap tracking, destined to be use with professional software. This version will be EXPENSIVE, like most professional software. We don't want big established companies to send their lawyers at us thinking that we want to wreck the professional market pricing scheme.
