Finally got it installed after battling to get windows 8 into safe mode. So I take it there's no way of knowing if its for life what I do see is there's no expiry date like the version I had before. If the program need to be updated will it kick out the crack?

I'm using version 7. Does this version need regular updating like this version? In my opinion if it doesn't need updating then its lifetime. That would really save my data.
