Edward Shearmur - K-PAX (Binaural) [FLAC]
I'm a big surround music fan and created these albums so I can listen them in surround through headphones on a portable player. I like to share them with you and hope that you'll enjoy them too! If you like this release and have a minute to spare, all feedback and support is very appreciated. You can find my releases at https://kat.cr/usearch/user:ADHDerby/ Binaural panning is an effect that combines panning, delay and doppler effects to create virtual surround sound with 2 channels. The result is a listening experience that transcends normally recorded stereo. It mimics the natural hearing cues created by our head and ears to create the impression of 3D sound when listening through headphones. Genre: Electronic, Stage & Screen Style: Soundtrack, Modern Classical, Ambient Release Date: Oct 04, 2001 Label: Decca - 016 192-2 Source: WebDL 44.1/16 FLAC Sample rate: 44100 Hz Bits per sample: 16 Codec: FLAC Edward Shearmur's score for K-Pax appropriately combines orchestral pieces with electronic music so as to match the fanciful tone of a film about a mental patient (played by Kevin Spacey) who claims to be from another planet and his psychiatrist (Jeff Bridges). But a solo piano-like sound, playing slow, introspective single-note melodies, is the primary musical element, the piano backed by haunting synthesized sounds on a cue such as "Good Morning Bess." The result is a soundtrack that works as an ambient/new age album much of the time, as well as providing a souvenir to the film. The tender musical heart of this enchanted take on The Man Who Fell to Earth belongs to composer Edward Shearmur, who turns in a largely synthesized score where spare, delicate piano melodies often recall Thomas Newman's deft sense of space and dynamics. While the general musical ethos seems a throwback to the mid-'80s heyday of pioneering electronic scores by Vangelis and Tangerine Dream, contemporary technical advances have allowed Shearmur to impart an ethereal and distinctly organic aural patina to these cues. Though informed by his atmospheric session work with Pink Floyd (The Division Bell), Shearmur's K-PAX score stands apart: quiet, mystically introspective music that seems as uncomplicated--and yet innately profound--as an autumn breeze. --Jerry McCulley Torrent hash: A7364B9D51666481FF28B666189C872C3555DEB0 Tracklist: 01.
