Some of the versions of vlc don't play bins for some reason....I use version 0.8.6i and it plays them great.

THE WORK I DID TO AVI BEFORE CONVERSION:

I left the video untouched because it looks pretty good but that audio....yikes.

I reduced the treble to -20 DB and then converted it to AC3. This movie was a real pain to sync as I had to scan for oos areas, watch for when the oos ended, and then rinse and repeat a few times after that.
Altogether I had to split the movie into 6 parts, fix the oos parts, and then merge them all back into 1 file again.

I then had to fix the oos part. It started at the 41:30 mark and ended around the 01:15:30 mark. It was oos by 400ms. You may notice that this one is 3 seconds shorter than the 1st one. I removed the part when it replays the guy looking out the window and then going to use the phone (so now he just goes for the phone 1 time)
