Rambabu (Venkatesh) is a honest yet tightwad orphan who is a fourth grade drop out from school living in Rajavaram village in Araku area. He enjoys a strong goodwill in Rajavaram and the native people love and respect him for his good deeds. After doing many petty businesses, he currently runs a cable network service named after his wife Jyothi (Meena). They have two daughters, Anju (Kruthika Jayakumar), a plus two student, and Anu (Esther), a school going kid. Their aspirations are normal for a family bound by budgets. Rambabu has a special interest in watching films of multiple languages thus earning fluency in speaking Tamil, Hindi and English. He spends most of his time in front of the TV in his small office. He is so obsessed with movies that he makes every major decision in life by subconsciously taking an example from some film he has seen. During a visit to a Nature camp organised by their college, Anju gets photographed in the bathroom by a hidden cell phone. The culprit, Varun (Roshan Basheer) is the son of police inspector general Geetha (Nadhiya) and Prabhakar (Naresh). Varun is accidentally killed by Anju when he comes to blackmail them and Anju breaks Varun's cell phone. They hide his body in a compost pit made for manure, which is witnessed by Anu. Jyothi tells Rambabu about the incident and he devises a way to save his family from the law.

He removes the broken cell phone and disposes off Varun's car, which is seen by Corrupt Constable Veerabhadram (Ravi Kale), who has a grudge against Rambabu. Rambabu takes them out on a trip to Vizianagaram to attend a religious meeting, watch a movie and eat at a restaurant. Geetha, realizing that her son has gone missing starts an investigation and finds Varun's car in a lake in an abandoned quarry near Devulapally while his phone signals end at Kharagpur. After a preliminary investigation, Geetha calls Rambabu and family for questioning. Rambabu had predicted that this would happen and taught his family how to change their alibi at the time of murder. He tells them to answer that they left to Vizianagaram on August 2 in the morning and returned back on August 3 evening. When questioned individually, they replied the same thing and they had also shown the bill of the restaurant, movie tickets and the bus journeys' tickets as proof of their alibi. Geetha questions the owners of the establishments they have been to and their statements prove Rambabu's alibi. Geetha realizes that on the day of the incident, Rambabu had taken the tickets and the bill, made acquaintance with the owners and had gone for the trip with his family on August 4 and 5, thus proving his alibi and the owners unwittingly tell the lie as Rambabu meets all of them later and registers in their minds that they met on August 2 and 3.

Geetha arrests Rambabu and family and Veerabhadram uses brute force to beat the truth out of them. Rambabu, Jyothi and Anju are severely injured while Prabhakar asks Geetha to stop all this. In fear, Anu reveals the truth about Varun's dead body and Varun's friend describes to them about the nature camp incident. After digging the compost pit, they find the cadaver of a pig there instead of Varun's body indicating that Rambabu had moved it. Anu reports to the media who arrived there due to the call by Jyothi's brother Rajesh (Chaitanya Krishna) and her father and complains against Veerabhadram who is thrashed by the local people after he manhandles Rambabu and his relatives. Rambabu's goodwill remains intact and all the native people extend their support to him because of the good deeds committed by Rambabu in the past. Veerabhadram is suspended, the remaining staff is transferred and Geetha resigns from her post. Before leaving to USA, Geetha and Prabhakar meet Rambabu to ask forgiveness for their rude and violent behavior and express their hope that Varun will be back. But Rambabu indirectly tells them that he killed Varun to save his family and asks them to forgive him. Rambabu later signs a register at the newly constructed Rajavaram police station. As he leaves, a flashback shows him leaving the incomplete police station with a shovel in hand, indicating that Varun's body is hidden in its foundation.
