Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods - Uncut Extended Edition Blu-ray

FUNimationFUNimation Entertainment has officially announced the Extended Edition Blu-ray release of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, which features the theatrical and uncut versions of the film. Stunning animation and epic new villains highlight the first new Dragon Ball Z feature film in seventeen years. Street date is October 7th.

Synopsis: Following the events from the Dragon Ball Z television series, after the defeat of Majin Buu, a new power awakens and threatens humanity. Beerus, an ancient and powerful God of Destruction, searches for Goku after hearing rumors of the Saiyan warrior who defeated Frieza. Realizing the threat Beerus poses to their home planet, the Z-fighters must find a way to stop him before it's too late. Only Goku, humanity's last hope, can ascend to the level of a legendary Super Saiyan God and stop Beerus from destroying Earth, and possibly the entire universe. Fans of the series will be delighted to know that Battle of Gods is an original work from Dragon Ball creator himself, Akira Toriyama.

The Blu-ray release of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is presented in 1080p with English and Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround with English subtitles. The uncut version of the film features 20 minutes of never-before-seen footage.

While complete extras have yet to be detailed, FUNimation has revealed there will be more than 30 minutes of bonus content, including an in-the-booth featurette with the fan-favorite cast.
