SINOPSIS:

Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) es una ambiciosa apoderada de un banco de Los Ángeles que sale con un hombre encantador, el profesor Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Todo les va muy bien hasta que la misteriosa Sra. Ganush (Lorna Raver) va a verla al banco para pedir que retrase las mensualidades de su hipoteca. Ahora bien, ¿debe Christine hacer caso de su instinto y ayudar a la anciana? ¿O quizá sería mejor negarse y quedar bien con su jefe y conseguir un ascenso? Christine se inclina por la segunda opción, por lo que la Sra. Ganush pierde su casa. La anciana decide vengarse y le manda la maldición de la lamia, convirtiendo su vida en un infierno. Perseguida por un espíritu malvado y ante la incomprensión de su escéptico novio, Christine busca la ayuda de un vidente (Dileep Rao) para salvar su alma de una condenación eterna. En un intento de ayudarla a recobrar una vida normal, el vidente la guía por una frenética carrera para invertir el hechizo. Pero las fuerzas del mal se acercan y Christine debe enfrentarse a algo impensable: ¿hasta dónde está dispuesta a llegar para librarse de la maldición?
