William Russell, who created the role of Ian Chesterton in the original television series of Doctor Who, reads David Whitaker's complete and unabridged novelisation, first published in hardback in 1964.

The book went on to spearhead the Target range of Doctor Who titles, and it is one of the best-loved novelisations to be based on the programme.

N.B. The original release had a fault on CD1 - a missing track 19 (there should be 24). This missing track is included in this post, along with a CD of rare uncut studio recording sessions for the story.
