Overview

The tactless and curmudgeonly Dr Martin Ellingham continues to cause unrest among the villagers of the pretty Cornwall village of Portwenn in this award-winning comedy drama...



The doc is taken hostage by a madman with a gun, attacked with an ice cream cone and pelted by fresh baked Cornish pasties.

The peace of the village is shattered by an invasion of tourists, eager for a sighting of a rare bird discovered nesting on Doc Martin's Aunt Joan's land. Village plumber Bert Large tips off the local baker, who seizes the chance to revive his ailing business by making it a new attraction.

Meanwhile, Doc Martin tries to head off a food contamination scare, continues to fumble his attempts at romancing the lovely schoolmistress Louisa, and looks like losing his eccentric receptionist, Pauline.

And his practice is threatened by an interfering doctor's friend who is gathering bad reports from disgruntled patients.

Louisa's father, Terry, returns to the village after years away. He left under a cloud of suspected theft and now has hatched a scheme with a dodgy colleague, Jonathon Crozier, to smuggle in explosives to use in a robbery.

Notes

This is a direct, uncompressed copy of the Australian release DVD from Starz Home Entertainment. The sound is surprisingly only encoded in stereo but is of excellent quality regardless. It's hardly the special effects blockbuster kapow movie that really needs the 5 extra channels.



Apparently the cast and crew were not available to film a full series at the time, so a special 2 hour episode/movie was created.
