Destination Truth takes us on one mans search for the truth in a reality
show that investigates stories of the unexplained across the globe. The
show, hosted by Josh Gates, is a credible investigation of these stories
with a first-person style that often alternates between moments of dramatic
tension and humor.

Every week, Josh visits a different destination around the world that is home
to notorious supernatural and mysterious stories, such as the Fire Worm of
Mongolia or the Chupacabra of Chile. He attempts to get to the truth by
talking to witnesses and experts while immersing himself in situations that,
while bizarre, are real and relatable.This show also airs in the UK under the
title The Monster Hunter.

The Case: Many years ago, a reverend named Thomas Baker traveled to a remote
village in Fiji with the intention of converting the natives to Christianity.
The villagers, who were cannibals, had other ideas and ate Reverend Baker and
his companions the very next day. Now, generations later, the people of Fiji
insist that the unsettled spirits of Bakers and his friends still haunt the
area.





The Kapre

The Case: In the islands of the Philippines, the legend of the ape-like, 7-foot tall
Kapre monster is terrifying. Said to be a hairy, foul-smelling, tree-dweller that
attacks anyone(or anything) that comes close to its refuge, stories of the Kapre have
been passed down for generations amongst the Aeta, the oldest inhabitants of the
Philippines.
