Butch Walker was thrilled to collaborate with Daryl for the show, raving, “Getting to roll into Daryl Hall’s compound up on a giant hill in the countryside of N.Y., then play some of my favorite songs of his with him, drink wine and eat amazing food with one of my childhood idols was something that gets marked off the list in my surreal, unpredictable life. The Cartersville, GA, native has produced hits and written songs for some of the biggest names in music, including Katy Perry, Weezer, Pink and Avril Lavigne. Rolling Stone named him Producer of the Year and called him “one of America’s bet singer-songwriters.” Walker performed alongside Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks at the Grammys. He has released six solo albums since his debut in 1992, with the most recent collection, The Spade, featuring his band the Black Widows, coming out last August on L.A. indie Dangerbird Records. Last fall, Walker’s behind-the-scenes memoir of his life in music, Drinking with Strangers: Music Lessons from a Teenage Bullet Belt, was published by William Morrow, a division of Harper Collins.
