Suspiria (Latin for "sighs") is a 1977 Italian horror
film directed by Dario Argento, co-written by Argento
and Daria Nicolodi, and co-produced by Claudio and
Salvatore Argento. The film also features Joan Bennett
in her final film role. It is the first Dario Argento's
horror film to have THX-certified audio and video.

The score was composed by progressive rock band Goblin
and released in 1977. The film is the first of the
trilogy Argento refers to as "The Three Mothers",
followed in 1980 by Inferno and in 2007 by The Mother of
Tears. Suspiria has become one of Argento's most
successful feature films, receiving critical acclaim for
its visual and stylistic flair, use of vibrant colors,
and its soundtrack. It was nominated for two Saturn
Awards: Best Supporting Actress for Joan Bennett in 1978
and Best DVD Classic Film Release in 2002. It has since
become a cult classic and a remake was planned for 2013,
but was subsequently cancelled.

STORY:
In a stormy night, the American dancer Suzy Bannion
arrives in Freiburg coming from New York to join a famous
and expensive ballet school for a three years training.
On the next morning, she is informed by the direction of
the school that a student she met leaving the place on
the previous night was violently murdered and the police
is investigating the crime. She becomes friend of another
student, Sara, and she realizes that the house is indeed
a coven of evil witches.

you crank the volume on your theater system and then when
the action kicks in you jump to the ceiling!
I automatically adjust the volume of every film -
not normalizing - just turn it up a couple of notches
and if necessary use a little DRC - the latter is rare.
Now you can scream along with the film and not miss
a word! ;-)
