DANNIC DISCOGRAPHY

Quality: 320 kbps
Label: Revealed Recordings, Flamingo Recordings, Toolroom Recordings
Year: 2009-2015
Artist: Dannic
Biography: Dannic, the highly prodigious DJ and producer from Breda in the Netherlands – the hometown of Tiësto and Hardwell – is one of the hottest acts to have emerged from the new generation of Dutch artists breaking through in recent years. His phenomenal rise of 44 places to take the #30 spot in the 2014 Top 100 DJ Poll confirms to tastemakers that he is set to remain a driving force within the scene. Debuting in the 2013 edition of the Top 100 DJs Poll at #74, forcing his way to the forefront of the booming electronic scene, Dannic has managed to cast off previous associations and step forward as a respected artist in his own right, repeatedly blowing away fans with a slew of sensational releases, collaborations and of course, titanic DJ shows.

This talented selector drew the attention of the spotlight early in his career thanks to a series of amazing mash-ups. He has since gone on to demonstrate a natural understanding of audio arrangement and structure, alongside possessing an impressive prowess as a peak-time performer, whose technical ability leaves club and festival audiences wowed each and every week. With his music remaining a staple in the sets of Tiësto, Avicii, Hardwell, Feddie Le Grand and Bingo Players, Dannic’s positions amongst his peers continues to soar.

Daan Romers (in real life) won the Dancetour DJ contest in 2009 and a slot playing his productions to an audience of 10,000 people. Having started out as a DJ 10 years ago Dannic earned his stripes the old fashioned way, playing bars and small clubs, honing his craft. As Dannic says “It’s funny because a lot of people know me as a producer but I like to see myself as a DJ who started producing”. It was only when he wanted to set himself apart from other DJs that he began experimenting with production and creating mash-ups to add something special and unique to his sets. By 2010 this level of dedication paid off.

Dannic’s first solo track on Revealed Recordings was called ‘Doster’ and received heavy supported from Hardwell and Nicky Romero. He then went on to release multiple records before catching the attention of the major labels. An early, but career path defining release, saw him go into the studio with close compatriot Hardwell to create ‘Kontiki’, a tune with went on to become a hallmark of many of that summers festival sets. Recently Dannic has left his imprint on projects for famed artists that include Chuckie, Example, Arty, Nadia Ali, Ciara and Sean Paul. Dannic has built his reputation to a point where his distinctive remix work is highly sought after by artists’ both in the underground and mainstream music scene. At the beginning of 2013 his track, ‘Clobber’, was released on the globally renowned imprint, Toolroom records. A fixture in many DJs sets during WMC, Dannic had delivered a hit that rivalled his previous peak time tracks ‘Flare’ and ‘Tombo’ both released on Revealed Recordings. Doused with Dannic’s distinctive style, ‘Clobber’ is a cool, dirty roller with a heavy groove that has illuminated the playlists of artists such as Swedish House Mafia. Danny Howard of BBC Radio 1 when discussing his music said “(I am a) Big big fan, been supporting his music since day one”, a sentiment which is shared by many..

Having been given his first big break by Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings imprint, Dannic has now, three years later, become an integral member of the Revealed family and seen his association with the label grow into a regular feature at Revealed’s global events and tours. From performances with the label at Amsterdam Dance Event to his fixture on the 12 date sell-out Revealed Recordings Canadian Bus Tour, that took place at the turn of the year and saw Dannic perform alongside label mates Hardwell and Dyro, as they took in the biggest clubs Canada’s club scene has to offer. Dannic’s profile has also soared in North America of late with him having played a number of prestigious shows at this year’s WMC. The panicle of which was, the Hardwell presents Revealed Miami at Mansion nightclub. It is undeniable that Dannic has moved beyond the tag of “one to watch.”

The Revealed Recordings North American Tour concluded in June and saw him destroy clubs along both coasts with label mate Dyro. During this tour, Dannic demonstrated to colossal audiences his skills and tight technique as a DJ. His ability to read the crowd shone through proving he can mix it with the world’s best, as he delivered sets varying from peak time madness to low slung, sexy, funky grooves. With the pinnacle of the tour being a main stage set at EDC Las Vegas, Dannic has undeniably joined the upper echelons of the dance music scene. This unrelenting schedule has been interspersed with dates across the globe and appearances at the summer’s hottest festivals including spell binding sets at Electric Zoo, Tomorrowland, Mysteryland, Dance Valley and TomorrowWorld.

Not one to ease up, Dannic’s consistently released music over the summer period. ‘Viper’, released on Revealed, is another dance floor weapon with anthem potential. Armed with fatal drops and energetic lead work ‘Viper’ followed his previous tracks and received heavy support from a who’s who of the scenes leading DJs. Following this with another release of the prestigious Toolroom Records, ‘Ignite’, has all the attributes of a Dannic classic with its big room vibe. His relationship with Toolroom Records has been further entrenched as he was bestowed the honour of mixing the latest edition of the fabled Toolroom Knights compilation in the labels tenth anniversary year. His eagerly anticipated next Revealed Recordings release ‘Rocker’ dropped in early October and became an instant fan favourite, adding another instant classic to Dannic’s rapidly swelling back catalogue. Not limited to solo releases his recent collaboration ‘Blueprint’ with up and coming Dutch artists Sick Individuals, yet again finding the perfect balance between melody and high impact club tune, this serves as a timely reminder of the Dutch mans talent. Having receiving heavy support from the scenes big guns this track hit the top spot in the Beatport chart, coming just a few weeks since placing for the first time in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll.

As 2014 kicked off, Dannic returned to Revealed Recordings, where he released his first record just a few short years ago, to lay down his first release on the label since mid-2013. ‘Lion’ carries Dannics distinctive musical fingerprint throughout its raucous build up and breakdowns. Yet again Dannic is showing his ability at finely tuning his tracks to make them perfect for the dancefloor. Following on from ‘Blueprint’, this record seems certain to be a mainstay in sets from the scenes leading DJs for the foreseeable future. Releasing his first vocal track ‘Dear Life’, on Revealed Recordings, at this time made it an instant fan favourite. Featuring the haunting vocals of famed EDM vocalists Bright Lights, Dannic had created something which created the ideal synergy between himself and his fans, club focused the track brings instant energy to any party. Followed quickly by his and Dyro’s highly anticipated co-production, which took its name from their Miami party, Radical was a highlight of their now infamous B2B2B set with Hardwell at Ultra Music Festival. His most recent release, Zenith, the follow up to his first vocal track with Bright Lights, has again surpassed expectations and was one of the most sought after tracks on the recent Hardwell Presents Revealed Vol.5 compilation.

Immediately hitting the road for the Revealed Recordings now infamous North American Bus Tour, Dannic played a string of sell out dates at some of the US’s finest clubs. Taking in 10 dates with stops at the prestigious Boston House of Blues, Sands Event Center in Bethlehem, Epic in Minneapolis and Bluestone Coloumbus, as Dannic himself put it “Seeing festival size crowds coming out just for Revealed Recordings, a label I have been a part of for so long, was incredible. It really hit home how far we’ve all come since the early years.

Releasing his first vocal track ‘Dear Life’, on Revealed Recordings, at this time made it an instant fan favourite. Featuring the haunting vocals of famed EDM vocalists Bright Lights, Dannic had created something which created the ideal synergy between himself and his fans, club focused the track brings instant energy to any party, whilst not loosing sight of his distinctive groove and appreciation of melody, the introduction of a choice vocal immediately gave his fans the sing-a-long they have long been expecting.

Throughout the first half of 2014 Dannic spread his wings as a fully-fledged touring DJ. Now a mainstay on the biggest festival stages the world over, as well as having just confirmed his first residency in Las Vegas at super club The Light, Dannic has matured on not only the dancefloor circuit but with his fanbase too – a base which currently sees him having almost 200k followers on Twitter and over 700k ‘Likes’ on Facebook. With a hugely successful WMC behind him, where he laid down a marker performing at Hardwell Presents Revealed at Mansion, co-hosting his own party alongside long time friend and label mate Dyro, as well as performing an exclusive Mixmag MixLab broadcast from their Miami office, Dannic then went onto take summer 2014 by storm.

So far the year has seen Dannic wow audiences playing epic sets on the main stage of Digital Dreams in Canada, Tomorrowland in Belgium, Creamfields in the UK, Sunset Music Festival in US, Escapade Music Festival in Canada, Paradiso Festival in the US, Electric Love festival in Salzburg, Sunrise Festival in Poland, Veld Music Festival in Toronto, Chasing Summer festival in Calgary and an epic, home coming, show at the worlds oldest electronic music festival Mysteryland. Moreover his B2B show with Dyro at EDC Las Vegas had a capacity crowd going crazy from start-to-finish, whilst his sets at Ushuaia Ibiza across the summer as part of the Revealed Recordings residency and the I AM HARDWELL Ibiza editions ensured a new audience left the island with the name Dannic firmly placed in their hearts and minds.

And with each of his last three release exploding into the upper reaches of the Beatport chart, the clamour for new music from his fans and followers equally shows no sign of relinquishing. Anubi, his massive collaboration with Merk & Kremont, which dropped at the end of April, was a classic, no-nonsense Dannic roller. Followed quickly by his and Dyro’s highly anticipated co-production, which took its name from their Miami party, Radical was a highlight of their now infamous B2B2B set with Hardwell at Ultra. His most recent release, Zenith, the follow up to his first vocal track with Bright Lights, has again surpassed expectations and was one of the most sought after tracks on the recent Hardwell Presents Revealed Vol.5 compilation.

Looking at the future and with an arsenal of new music waiting to be released, an expansive globetrotting tour due for the end of 2014 and well into 2015, Dannic is ear marking the next 12 months as the biggest of his career to-date…..so world….keep watching…
