An impecunious clergyman is strongly against against gambling. He meets his sister after many years,and discovers she has a half share in a race horse "Dandy Dick". He previously made an unwise offer of making a large contribution to the church restration fund - believing, for reasons of the plot, that he would never have to pay up.

He is persuaded that the only thing he can do is put a bet on Dandy Dick. But then he is accused of doping the horse......
