Cyclick Samples - Electro Nightmare [WAV | NKI] -Sin

It's a dirty, nasty affair this with distortion and fuzz taking centre stage.

First up there are ten multisampled instruments – five lead synths and five basses.
These have all been made up into Kontakt instruments too (see note below).
There are 220 loops and lines across five tempos in the Loops n Lines folder –
rhythmic loops, beats, basslines and lead lines (the latter two made with the
instruments that were then multisampled).

The process was kept simple (all mono!) with the synths and loops reamped through
a chain of analogue distortion pedals (see list below), ending in the Moogerfooger
lowpass filter which was used to reign in the harmonic overspill created by so
many distortions. The reamping chain started from the Orion 32 DAC into the
Arsenal Audio R24 EQ (useful for pre-shaping for the pedals), then to the
Little Labs Redeye and into the pedal chain. The Moogerfooger then fed into the
TLA 5050's instrument input for gain trimming, a touch ofcompression if needed
and then back to the Orion 32 ADC via the other channel of the R24 EQ for any
last adjustments. No digital processing beyond dither and some hum reduction was
carried out.

The instruments started out as simple softsynths (mostly Arturia ARP2600 and
Moog Modular), though they soon grew some teeth, hair and claws as they were
heavily mauled by at least two distortions at a time. Needless to say it was a
question of punching pedals in and out of the chain and getting heavy handed on
the controls to carve out a suitably in-yer-face yet consistent/useful tone.
The Moogerfooger also added a little more drive at the end when necessary.
Far, far too much fun, though a little hard on the ears after a day or two!

The multisamples have the sustain loop points embedded within the WAV files and
they have all been programmed into Kontakt instruments (version 4 and above).
The instruments all have a highpass filter assigned to the Mod Wheel (MIDI CC#01)
and a lowpass assigned to MIDI CC#74.
