Cumulus - Cumulus (1974)

Here's a rare one. Cumulus' first LP done in Swedish for the local Viking label, and released exclusively there. Still I managed to find a copy!



The songs are all familiar for those who have heard the debut album and "Sirkustirehtöörin pieni sydän" (1973). 12 selections translated to Swedish by Anki and her mother Marita Lindqvist, author of children's books. Matti and Pirjo Bergström are present as well as Hector, who didn't do much here, though. He's credited with vocals, guitar and bongos, but his only solo singing part occurs on the song "Neonguden".



The cover presents the group dressed in medieval attire, stills were taken from the sixth and last episode "Aikakone" (Time Machine) of their TV series.



Since the songs are from their more experimental period and the arrangements are kept almost intact (re-recorded in the same way as the original versions), this one comes off as one of their better albums. I wouldn't say it's worth the huge asking prices, since there's nothing unique and new here, but we collectors are known to be a bit crazy... ;)
