Crown Court was courtroom drama which ran between 1972 to 1984 and shown in the afternoons on ITV where it was produced by Granada Television. A court case in the Crown Court of the fictional town of Fulchester would typically be played out over three weekdays in half-hour episodes. Although those involved in the case were actors, the jury was made up of members of the general public from the local Granada Television area and it was this jury alone which decided the verdict.

Synopsis:Following deposits of cyanide found in several rivers in Midlands area the Government brought in the 1972 Deposit of Poisonous Waste Act.
Now Fulchester Metals Corporation Transport Manager Michael Mayes, conspiring with contract workers Albert and Martha Cousins, face proscution for deliberately dumping 2,000 gallons of deadly acid chemicals disguised as soap in a local lake in Fulchester. Did they act in tandom or a Cousins soley to blame?
