We're in Cheshire this week, home to cheese and a grinning cat. It's also home to a partying freelance writer, a posh vet, a flash hairdresser, a hard-nosed businesswoman and a socialite farmer's wife, all hoping to grab the glittering £1000 cash prize. All the hosts think they've got the right ingredients for the perfect dinner party, but with a big prize at stake, the competition is fierce and the comments knife-sharp.





The final night and it’s the turn of aspiring chef Howard the hairdresser from Hale. Despite the fact that he’s only cooking for five, Howard asks friend Andy to be his commis chef and do all the chopping but not the washing up - as perfectionist Howard is the only one who can do it to his satisfaction.



While the guests are given a wine tasting by Andy who also happens to work as a wine merchant, Howard pan fries his tapas starter. Eager to spend more time on his cod main course, he is caught by Edward putting his shop-bought new potatoes into the microwave much to the vet's horror. And as they tuck in to the main course Howard boasts about his help from friend Patrick the food lecturer.



But it is over dessert that the real excitement begins with a friendship blossoming between two certain members of the group. Will all Howard’s help back fire on him, or will his matchmaking skills gain him extra points?
