Charlie Musselwhite 1986 - Mellow Dee [EAC FLAC] Charlie Musselwhite Charlie Musselwhite performing on the New York City Blues Cruise 2003 Charlie Musselwhite at the Liri Blues Festival, Italy, in 2000 Wikipedia: Charles Douglas "Charlie" Musselwhite (born January 31, 1944) is an American electric blues harmonica player and bandleader, one of the non-black bluesmen who came to prominence in the early 1960s, along with Mike Bloomfield and Paul Butterfield. Though he has often been identified as a "white bluesman", he claims Native American heritage. Musselwhite was reportedly the inspiration for Dan Aykroyd's character in the Blues Brothers. Mellow Dee Release Date: 1986 Label: CrossCut Records (West Germany) CCD 11013 Producer: Detlev Hoegen Genre: Blues, Harmonica Blues, Electric Chicago Blues Total Time: 00:43:53 AllMusic Review by Dan Forte: By this time Charlie was confident enough to include four acoustic guitar vehicles -- one ("Baby Please Don't Go") with overdubbed harp, one ("I'll Get a Break") from his old pal Will Shade of the Memphis Jug Band. The ensemble numbers feature a German backup band with expatriate Jim Kahr on guitar. A more expansive workout (than the Chicago BlueStars' version) on "Coming Home Baby" is nice, and "Cristo Redentor" (Charlie's fourth recording of the song, this time subtitled "Slight Return") gets a beautiful piano-harp duet treatment. 01.
