The BBC broadcast these stories between 1971-8, mostly adaptations from M.R. James' novellas. This one is based upon a short story by Charles Dickens and if you haven't seen it, you're in for a treat! Normally, taking a metaphysical stance to enhance the story, the dialogues and silences, as well as the rural autumnal settings, lead us into the domain of our deeper more mystical selves which encourage the imagination to scare the bejesus out of us ;) Wonderful stuff, and not a drop of blood in sight.
