Soundtrack album - Carny - 1980 - Warner Bros. HS 3455 Working with Hollywood veteran Alex North, who'd scored such classic films as Spartacus, Viva Zapata, and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Robbie Robertson put together a soundtrack that veered between old-fashioned, noir-style mood music and funkier pieces recorded with musicians like Mac Rebennack and Randall Bramlett. Alongside instrumental pieces like "Pagan Knight", "Freak's Lament", and "The Garden Of Earthly Delights", Robbie cut a version of Fats Domino's "The Fat Man", only his fourth vocal recording in twenty years. -- Barney Hoskyns, Across the Great Divide Robbie plays on three of the tracks on side 1 of the soundtrack LP.
