Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys (Full 26 eps) (XviD) (By NH) (Size: 6.53 GB)
Description
These are the full 26 episodes of Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys. For those of you who know this series, you're probably jumping up and down right now.
For those of you who have never seen/heard of this series, it was a half hour saturday morning cartoon that ran 1996-1997. The plot followed five (six, if you count Splitzy's alter ego) monkeys who were recruited by the most intelligent beings in the universe. The beings, who were "so advanced their name could not be spoken" became known as the " " throughout the series. The " " gave the monkeys inhanced intelligence to aid them in defending the galaxy from Lord Nebula; a half-human, half-black hole bent on taking over the universe, and Nebula's henchman; a cybornetic monkey named Rhesus 2. There was Captain Simian, a chimp, the leader of the group. Spydor, a wise-cracking, thieving spider monkey. Dr. Splitz/Splitzy, an orangutan with a serious case of split personality. Shao Lin, a Chinese golden monkey, a master of the martial arts, as well as Chinese philosophical wisdom. Gor-illa (usually just called Gor), a big, strong gorilla, who broke the intelligence inhancing machine before he got a full dose. He also broke Orbitron, which was supposed to be their greatest asset, leaving the metal orb something of a rambling basket case for the rest of the series. Although the series carried a Y7 rating, most of the show's fast-paced humor would probably be lost on such a young audience. Each episode always had it's helping of spoofs, spin-offs, and parodies of other popular and classic movies, series, and actors from the 40's, 50's, and 60's. Such as Star Trek, Casablanca, Alien, The Maltese Falcon, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Odd Couple, Jerry Lewis, and The Three Stooges, just to name a very few. When I originally watched this show back in the mid 90's, my parents generally laughed more than I did, with a lot of those jokes flying right over my head. In fact, I find this show much funnier now, nearly ten years later, than I did back then. The A/V quality of these episodes shouldn't be compaired to modern media. The show was never released as a collection on any form of media, after all, so you know that these are TV rips. I should not that the first few seconds of the theme sequence, and a handful of the unique ending quotes in the credits are sadly missing (I didn't have the credits for each episode, unfortunately). Other than that, each episode is complete. I would have liked to make this a true 100% complete collection, but I guess 99.9% isn't bad. The video quality is very watchable, and the audio, after I gave it some mild timing, sync, and volume correction, is very listenable. I would rate each perhaps a 7.5 or 8 out of 10. I hope you enjoy my collection of this great cartoon series. NH Sharing Widget |
