Calm Before the Storm - Kevin Fuckin Moses (2009) ********************************************************************************* -Calm Before the Storm- What the fuck happened to music? Seriously, what’s going on? Did I miss something? When did it become so watered down? I understand that it is a business and records have to be sold, but where is the artist that decides enough is enough and tries to make a sonic change that forms a catalyst for the next wave of artists to be accepted in the mainstream. Quite honestly, I’ll tell you. You as the consumer do not allow the actual talented people or really good music to be placed in the forefront. Most of my favorite bands rarely go platinum or even gold for that matter. The thing is that anytime you get anything that is remotely innovative or even good, suits have to get a hold of it, water it down and then ring every fucking dollar out of it they can. Only to toss it aside once it’s no longer profitable and then finds the next organism to leech off of. It’s sad but true. No longer do we have the loyal fan bases, except for the emo bands, but that’s another story. Most consumers tend to buy what is given to them instead of going out and finding something different. Hip-Hop for the most part has turned into dance based club music. You would have to go beneath the surface for some real lyrical shit. The problem is that most of it is over people’s heads, so they won’t accept it or mass consume it. Same goes with rock and roll. MTV will not play anything that’s not safe anymore and God help you if your music has some kind of message. Rap rock was a sign that music was not worth the CDs it was printed on. Pop artists will always be around and some are actually worth listening to, but that’s few and far between. Most artists and labels don’t even look at albums as a medium, just singles and ring tones. The internet is great for finding new music, but will you buy an album you can download for free? I didn’t think so. If I truly like an artist or album, and their shit leaks like a cat with dysentery’s asshole, I’ll download it. I also buy the album once it’s released and go to a concert or two. Music is their livelihood and art and far be it from me to take their hard work for free if they don't deserve it. Most people don’t do that and it’s understandable. So don’t be angry that Panic at the Disco is still releasing albums because 14 year old girls buy their CDs and go to their shows. Dave Matthews makes money off his concerts and not his records, but has such a strong following that it justifies new releases. Don’t get me wrong, I would beat the bastard with his own guitar but he has a good live show. Don’t buy the bullshit and the suits will make an effort to change the wave artists getting all the promotions. Payola exists, so some crap will rise to the top. For the most part, we control the industry. So, go buy Death from Above 1979, so they get back together. Do it for yourself and if not, then do it because I’ll kill you. Fuck you, I’m out. ~Kevin Fuckin Moses ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- General Information ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Type.................: Audio CD Platform.............: CD Genre................: Toxic Beats Number of Files......: 10 MP3s Bit Rate.............: 320 Kbps Format...............: MP3 Created With.........: Mad Talents Burn Tested..........: Yes Artist Website.......: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post Information ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted by............: ~DragonLord~ Posted to............: The World Repost Policy........: Do What You Want ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Release Notes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Dragonlord revealed his true self!
