This is the definitive version of the album, the regular release does not feature 3 more original songs that actually strengthen the album as a whole. (as in from 01 - This Beautiful Day to 16 - The Last Song) They sort of add that "Today!" or "Summer Days, Summer Nights" vibe of the second half of the LP being very Brian Mellow time - It's something the normal release rushes through rather than allowing it to breathe in the Deluxe edition.
It should be sold more as this is the /real/ version while the other is for the curious soul who does not want to dive in too deep or something, I can't really wrap my head around why marketing wouldn't want this 16 track as the regular print.

Back to being on topic!
Despite this being the superior version to the regular album it does feature two bonus tracks at the end after "The Last Song" - a Cover of "In The Back of My Mind" which is really quite good and a cover of "Love and Mercy".
