Viewers will follow Maxwell as he immerses himself in the local activities, learns about the country's relationship with liquor and sometimes gets to participate in the alcohol-making process himself. Episode Guide: Episode 1: Turkey Is Stirring When spending time in Turkey, Jack learns more about the nation of rebels. Turkey is deeply divided on alcohol, because of it's national religion, so although it's highly restricted, Turk's drink defiantly and patriotically, which soon becomes apparent in the working-class neighborhood of Besiktas. Here the revolution is at the forefront of most people's minds and Jack enjoys a glas of Raki, Turkey's national drink with a rebel group's tailgating party. After game night is over, Jack tries some Booza, a custard that is alcohol infused, that he helps sell throughout the neighborhood. The next day, Jack sits in on a meal with Turkish authors and revolutionaries, learning more about the history of the country and enjoying some more Raki. When he heads to Gayrettepe, he is surprised to discover this is also the hub for local microbrews. Those who make the law have made it nearly impossible for local breweries to get the supplies they need, but the Bosphorus Pubs' British brew master, continues challenging the government with a crafty campaign, that isn't allowed to directly sell the product or use social media. In Bozcaada, Jack picks his own grapes at the Corvus winery. Before wrapping up his journey enjoying some poppy cocktails with the local women. Episode 2: Peru Is Magic In the city of Iquitos, Peru, Jack makes a barrel of canazo, a sugar cane liquor, at a local farm. It's high alcohol content and medicinal purposes make it one of the most popular local drinks. His local drinking guide, gets Jack a energy drink made of frogs, anticipating a late night. He then tries a couple of rounds of pisco sours, in the hottest bar of the district. Jack heads to a distillery the next day, to learn more about how Pisco is made. Here he shares a meal with the owners and learns about the drinks history. In Cusco, Jack heads to meet a family of female brewers, who are said to make the best chicha in the area, a corn-based Incan drink. He heads to a local healer, whilst in the neighborhood, where he tries a guinea pig meal with some more chicha. Episode 3: Spain Mixed Not Blended Jack tries a sherry cocktail, whilst in Andalusia. In Navarre, he tries some Patxaran, a dark and savory liquor that should help calm his nerves, before playing a game of pelota, a handball based game. He is invited by the local gastronomy society to learn more about the region's culinary traditions and tries some more Patxaran. Jack has to dodge the busy street crowds with a glass of Kalimotxo, a mixture of wine and cola. He also heads to Galicia, a rocky coastline, which was settled by the Celtic, he he tries a thick and tart drink called Orujo, a 100 proof wine-based spirit, that is traditionally burnt, to change the taste. Jack heads to a local winery, where he seals the distillery machinery. He then heads to Catalonia, making a home brew of garden herbs, fermented for 40 days in the sun, known as Ratafia. His local hosts suggest he save the Ratafia for after dinner, so during the meal that night they can savor the wine. His final stop was in Barcelona, where he learns more about Vermouth, a drink that is becoming more popular. Episode 4: Austria Is Good For You From soothing hops baths to Zirbenschnapps, a digestive pinecone schnapps, booze in Austria doubles as a medicinal method. Jack heads to downtown Franking to sip on one of Austria’s most famous drinks, visits a distillery in Upper Austria to taste the famous (and quite expensive) eau-de-vie, and much more. Episode 5: Icelands Warm Fire The land is cold, but the people are warm and full of spirit-—the kind of spirit you can drink! Icelanders stay toasty by sipping on their liquor, and Jack is more than willing to join in on the party. From fjallagrassa in the mountains to sipping beer in Hafnarfjordur, he attempts to drink his way across the Land of Fire and Ice. Episode 6: Mongolian Road Trip Jack travels to the base of the Khangai Mountains to try fermented horse milk; takes a tour of a factory where liquid is filtered through diamonds and pearls to create the perfect vodka; and gets a lesson on making camel-milk vodka. Episode 7: Nepal A Higher State From his hometown of Boston to the highest mountain range in the world, Jack travels high into the Himalayas to taste some of the best drinks in Nepal, including a marijuana milkshake, sherpa beer and the Yeti's favorite drink. Episode 8: Japan Uncorked Jack takes his booze travels to Japan, a country that has a reputation for being a little unconventional. Amid a culture of honor, family and strict order, drinking provides a balance to this lifestyle and an outlet for people to relax. Episode 9: Loopy Lithuania The show features a drink with the Devil as well as a pagan ritual and beer with giants. Episode 10: Netherlands Liquid Courage The show features Fish Pickle,a fortress full of rare beer and barrels of Dutch Courage.
